What’s in my Hospital Bag

Welp it’s about that time to head to the hospital and go from Mom of 3 to FOUR!  I am so excited about meeting the newest member of the #HWTH crew.  I officially packed my hospital back no more than a week ago.   Yeah a WEEK ago, pretty crazy but hey, I’m having number 4 so I am pretty much going with the flow at this point.  I’m using my Timi & Leslie bag that I got when Maveric was born.  Four years later it’s still going strong and it holds a lot of stuff! It’s very spacious and it’s a classic bag who would even think this stylish bag was a diaper bag?!IMG_0875

Here’s what’s in my bag:

Comfy PJ’s are a must and I always choose a dark color so I decided to pack a leopard night top, with a black robe and black leggings that have a draw string just in case God forbids I  have a C-Section.

Slippers and flip-flops are needed because I refuse to take a shower bare foot in the hospital.  Some people don’t like to bring their house shoes to the hospital which is also why I pack my shoe garment bag and throw them in the washing machine as soon as I get home.

Dark colored undies because we all know why…. even though you get the mesh ones during your stay, who really wears them home?

Body Care items such as a towel, wash cloth, facial creams, tooth brush, soap, deodorant, lotions and body spray.  I absolutely must have lip balm, I know this sounds funny BUT the Deraye and Co lemon lip balm is a game changer your lips will thank you .  I love to feel as comfortable as possible while I’m at the hospital,  it helps me to relax and enjoy the time with my new baby.

Baby Items include an outfit for pictures, as well as a going home outfit, I packed the new Freshly Picked Crib Moccs in powder blue and I absolutely LOVE them!! I always pack a blanket to lay over the car seat as we depart and don’t forget to have someone bring the car seat when it’s time to leave.  Remember you DO NOT need diapers, you will receive plenty at the hospital so leave room in your bag to pack those items before you go.

Electronic Items include your camera to capture memories, Iphone chargers, Ipad and it’s  charger to catch up on your favorite Netflix shows while you rest.  It’s so important for me to have my chargers because FaceTime is how my husband gets to see his new son enter this world.

Last but not least.. in my books anyway!  I ALWAYS pack a wallflower from Bath and Body Works.  I love to plug these  in as soon as I’m settled into my room after delivery.  I absolutely HATE going to the hospital so anything that can keep my mind free and that smells good is needed!

Well I am officially ready to meet the last member of our crew!  Praying for a healthy and stress free delivery of Axel Roman today!  Chat soon…

DIY Patched Denim

My oldest child and ONLY daughter Elle and I have a lot in common, and one of those “things” would be our connection in being creative!  She loves to do DIY activities with me so we got together and came up with a DIY Mommy and Me craft for our friends at The Craft Bar  take a look at what we came up with below! Tag us if you get around to trying this out with your little one(s)

Items Need:

IMG_0789

  • An Iron
  • Patches of your choice
  • Denim jeans or any denim item
  • Heavy duty glue gun

Place your patches in various locations on the jeans as seen below

IMG_7604

With adult supervision of course, I let Elle iron the patches allowing the heat to sit for at least 30 seconds.  Keep in mind you may have to go over each path in a circular motion to avoid burning the items.

IMG_7601

We suggest wearing after 24 hours and if any patches appear to become undone simply try ironing again or following up with the hot glue gun!

Style and Enjoy!  This DIY was so much fun and super easy I am going to make a jacket for myself! Stay tuned and until next time…..

S is for Spring & Soccer

*The following post is a sponsored blog post with Nuby, all opinions are my own *

Yesterday we started a new adventure with the #HWTH crew, Maveric started soccer!  I can’t believe my little guy is about to be 4 and he’s already into sports.  Currently the kiddo’s are taking swimming lessons and now we have soccer and next week Elle is hitting the pavement and starting out with the running club.  With all of these extra curricular activities, it’s so important to stay hydrated and thanks to Nuby’s new Thirsty Kids water canteen we are doing just that!

IMG_0850

This canteen holds 12 oz of water which has been perfect during breaks.  I love that it’s easy to grip and that the spout stays clean when closed.  The silicone band makes it easy for little hands to grip as you can see above, and it’s BPA free.

IMG_0857

With this durable plastic we are surly going to make it through the entire season with this one.  Be sure to snag one for your active little person from Target . What are some of the activities that you have signed your little ones up to start this season?  IMG_0855

I’m not sure what it is about kids, and new cups but this one has received two thumbs up.  Thanks to our friends at Nuby for the cool new canteen.  Until next time….

Military Wife Life

Wednesday, Maveric’s preschool had “Donuts for Dads” day.  With JoColby currently deployed, I thought this would be the perfect time to FaceTime him.  So Jagger and I ventured to the preschool so that Maveric would not feel left out.  Luckily  I was not alone, there was a mommy table with other moms filling in for dads that were unable to attend for whatever reason.

I had a few conversations with the moms and then it hit me…. My husband will not be here for the birth of our child, in fact he will miss most of Axel’s first year of life.  I can deal with missing some milestones but knowing he will come home and meet his youngest son for the very first time really made me feel bummed out.  So far the kids have been keeping me busy so the deployment is some what flying by.  I am so thankful for technology and WIFI!!!! Since my husband is seven hours ahead of us we are able to FaceTime with the kiddos around 7 am and 3pm so it feels like he’s not really gone.

When you’re married to a soldier and they are deployed it’s a lot harder for the families that are left behind than it is so much for the soldier.  I always laugh when my husband says ” I have to turn it on, like a switch! But when you think about they really do.

The best advice that I can give a military family is to have a STRONG support system.  It takes a village it truly does, and my little #HWTH village totally rocks! Until next time…

Phil and Teds Voyager Review

* This stroller was a sponsored gift from Phil and Teds, all opinions are my own. All images provided by our friend White Coat Wifey

Over the weekend, the #HWTH crew and I decided to test our our brand new stroller from our friends at Phil and Teds.  The stroller arrived at the perfect time, allowing me to get a test run since Axel is due any day now.  The Voyager Double stroller arrived and because I am a visual learner the youtube assembly instructions made the set up a breeze!  IMG_4299

Jagger was excited to test out the new wheels! FullSizeRender (10)

As well as Maveric, my 3 year old!  He insisted that his legs “hurt” and he couldn’t walk.  I love that the seats are roomy enough for him, after all how could I tell him no with this face?!

IMG_4284

We took a stroll to our favorite local park, and trekked through grass, dirt, rocks and cement.  Seriously, the wheels on this stroller are amazing as well as puncture- free!

IMG_4300

I love that this stroller is a 4 in one system, I am so excited to push Axel in the lie flat feature.  A bassinet stroller has always been one of my wish list items and now I not only own one, but mine has the options of becoming a single or double stroller.  This stroller is just what our growing family needed.

Here are a few of my other favorite features of the stroller:

  • It’s self standing once you’re finished you don’t have to worry about laying your stroller on the ground and scratching it up on the cement.
  • The brake is not at the bottom, you can literally flick the brake on and off which is located near the bar as you push the stroller.
  • The seats are easily interchangeable so no matter if you’re pushing 1 or 2 kids with just the press of a button you’re all set.
  • This stroller is ideal for twins or siblings, you’re life just got easier! Trust me.
  • It has a 5 point safety harness so no more pinching those sweet baby rolls when you’re trying to buckle them in…. Hey I know I’m not alone on this one!
  • It has large sun hoods with storage compartments that is roomy enough to hold keys and/ or your cell phone perfectly as well as a headphone jack.

This stroller is #HWTH approved! Be sure to check out more features and snag your own here and don’t forget to check out all the amazing accessories . I’m eyeballing the Free rider stroller board, I know my boys would love that! Until next time….

DIY toddler style

Hey Momtourage!  I wanted to share a cool quick and easy way to take plain black shoes from basic to  fresh! I’m always excited to find a great deal, so when I was in Walmart I found some black vans inspired shoes for Jagger and they were less than $6!  Check out my tips to make some for your little one below:

Items needed:IMG_0618

  1. Bleach
  2. A spray bottle
  3. Black canvas shoes

After pouring the bleach in the empty spray bottle, simply spray the shoes lightly.  Be sure to spray in different locations so that you are able to have a cool splash pattern!

IMG_0619

Let the shoes sit for 1-2 mins to allow the bleach to set into the canvas

IMG_0620

Rinse the shoes with cold water and allow to air dry for 24hrs.

IMG_0621

After the shoes dry you are ready to style them! We absolutely love the way they turned  and I will be making some for the rest of the #HWTH crew!  Until next time!

Meal prep made easy!

Monday I had the pleasure of receiving my very first meal subscription box.  My best friend Alex somehow was able to send me a code for a FREE box, so I signed up quickly to get things rolling because as most of you know  I HATE cooking!

Signing up was a breeze, I have a pork and red meat free home and soon I will be converting back to vegetarian life.  I selected my restrictions and picked out the most appealing meals.  We went with Fish tacos, Soy Chicken and Potato topped pot pie, everything was delicious!  Not only was it easy, but I have the recipes to use in the future.

Since I’m not a food blogger or professional photographer the food pictures below are from the Hello Fresh website.  The portions were the perfect size for myself and the kiddos, now if my husband was back in the states we would totally have to increase our plan to the family size.

Overall I think this product is beneficial for families or people on the go, it’s easy and extremely convenient.  If you’re interested in getting $40 off click here  and you’re looking at 3 meals for $19.94, that’s worth a try.  Let me know if you do sign up and how much you enjoy your meals.  Until next time…..
